MY THOUGHTS ON GETTING OLDER
I already know what I will gain because I learn something from everything that happens to me: Wisdom.(Though I have discovered that it doesn't always come with age. Some people never learn. But I can learn something from anyone- whether it be from their insight or their ignorance). I will seek wisdom for the rest of my days. The best lessons are lessons of love. Some people are really good at heart. The person I could learn most from is someone who has learned so much in their life that they have given up all opinions. Opinions come from the ego and the ego eats away at your true being.
What will I loose as I age?
I don't know. We all must accept changes, as rough as it is. I will keep my youth, I know that.
The hardest part about getting older?
Is accepting the fact that you are not perfect.
At 70 or 80, a recommendation I would make to someone my age would be:
Be happy. If life deals you a slump, push past it. You need high spirits or you won't survive (you won't want to anyway). We all control our own happiness-remember that.
