Life Philosophy

"My philosophy is very simple. I believe the basics in life, the things that let you accomplish anything is a good family, a good relationship with somebody, and a good relationship with God. With love from family and a significant other and God, anything can be overcome...Be good, be happy, be you. Take care of yourself, and your family. You may find out there's not too much more beyond that."

Life Philosophy: "I suppose it might be based on that of the knights of old: chivalry, prowess, generosity, loyalty, courtesy. I think those four things epitomize (my life philosophy). I try in my own way to emulate those."

"Life is such a valuable thing, don't do things to endanger yourself. It's easy to make your life hard. Everybody knows how to do that so I try my hardest to make my life easier. I want to have a good life and I'm not going to destroy it with drugs or other types of dumb things that are out there. I am going to make the best of life. That's what I believe the purpose of life is."

"'Be not the first by whom the new is tried nor yet the last to lay the old aside.' That's one of my favorite ones. Another one is: 'The devil did grin because his favorite sin was pride that ate humility'... When we were getting ready to be ordained I heard a sermon: Always try to do the best you can do under the circumstances. Another sermon affected me was where he said: Jesus has no hands but yours, no feet but yours, no lips but yours, no voice but yours to go out and do what needs to be done."

"Be good. Love your parents. Lose the attitude. Party while you're young. Be careful not to do any thing stupid. Life is precious. you were put on this earth because somebody will always love you no matter what. Even if you think the world is falling from beneath your feet, there is always some body! The best thing you can expect is to be loved no matter your faults and to party you brains out being very careful also to be successful."
Shannon (mentee)

"Be true to other people and most importantly, be true to yourself. If you are true to yourself you will be true to somebody else. Don't let life get you down...things will happen."
Helen (mentor)

"To me, the meaning of life is to be as happy as you possibly can. For me to be as happy as I possibly can would mean having my family and the people I love around me and having those people happy and healthy as well as myself. I believe that life isn't about doing things to yourself or for yourself to make other people happy but to make yourself happy. "

"To live a good and healthy life. To be good to everyone. Also to help a person when he/she is in need."
Mike (mentee)

"My philosophy of life is that each person is able to make their own decisions regarding their life. That also means to make their own mistakes too. I think that each person should be able to say just what they feel on a subject. Everyone needs their freedom but we need to know how not to take it for granted. To me it also means to pursue your dreams and goals."
Erin (mentee)

"My life philosophy is: live life the way you think it should be lived. Do what you want, not what others want you to do."
