Culinary Arts
COOKING, FOOD HANDLING AND KITCHEN MANAGEMENT
I am seeking a full- time position as a Prep Cook. I recently graduated from the REfire Culinary program in Tallahassee, Florida and am ServSafe Certified. (I passed the certification exam on the first try!)
My ability to quickly learn new skills and work flows in the kitchen is motivated by my positive attitude and my love for cooking. I entered this field because I have a desire to serve others. I would say that is my 'driving force'...along with my genuine passion and enthusiasm for the culinary arts.
The perfect job for me would be one that challenges me on a daily basis to find new approaches to the many tasks that are required to run a clean and efficient kitchen. I also thrive when given opportunities to be creative and I look forward to finding new ways to make dining a positive and memorable experience for the public.
I prepare food using a variety of methods but my specialty is cooking on the grill and stove top. There are so many things you can do with fresh, flavorful ingredients and a good gas flame. I've developed a variety of dishes that please the palate as well as the eye. See some of my culinary creations displayed below in the Portfolio section.
Prep Cook
I am seeking a rewarding position in the retail food sector, that utilizes my current skill set and offers opportunities to learn new skills as I support the kitchen team and benefit the company.
This is a selection of the dishes I've created over the past 3 years. Each of these dishes was created and displayed by me. My most creative moments happen when I am missing ingredients and must find a substitute or when I must adjust my recipe to accommodate a last minute change in the menu. Every day is an adventure in the kitchen! (Soon I'll post some of my favorite recipes. Check back later!)

I have been interested in the culinary arts since childhood. My dad helped me create my first recipe when I was 7 years old and taught me how use fresh produce from our garden. When I read about dishes available in 5-star restaurants, a whole new world opened for me.
Since then I've taken every culinary arts class I could (at our local community college) and bugged all the chefs I know for tips and tricks. Several of my culinary creations have won awards and last year I won best of show at the North Florida Grill Master Competition. My goal for 2019 is to support and learn from a talented team of culinary professionals in the Tallahassee area.
Below you will find letters written by those who know my work first-hand. Formal references from my supervisors, teachers and co-workers available upon request.
