The Uplink
Vocational Training with a Project-Based Approach

The Uplink is a training program that provides marketable technology and arts skills for young creatives.

Career Branding Project
This project is a best fit for teen and young adult artists and entrepreneurs who want to learn digital media skills and showcase their work online. (Examples)

Final Products
• Responsive web site
• Styled resume
• Online portfolio
• Video cover letter
• Personal logo
• Photo headshot
• Business card (print)
• Contact card (digital)
• Letters of Recommendation (optional)

As students build their online presence, they learn web programming and design, digital imaging, motion graphics, animation and video production. The final products and skills learned give these career-seekers a competitive edge in the employment marketplace.

After digital content is posted, students receive a custom (and/or private) URL so they can direct visitors to their site, independent of classmates' work. Students' online CVs will be hosted and maintained (including monthly updates) by The Uplink for one year after course completion.

No previous experience or technical skills are required to participate in this program.

Our curriculum is designed for flexibility. We are able to loan the production equipment and software licenses for a class of up to ten participants and can accommodate students with wide-ranging abilities. Instruction is divided into modular sessions to support school-day, after-school or summer schedules. Coursework for high school participants prepares them for referrals for further media production training at local colleges and vocational training programs.

We look forward to customizing engaging and successful technology-arts projects that benefit your students and your program.
