Paul Fortier
First Draft of 3D Game

This demo requires the latest, 3D version of the free Shockwave player which may be downloaded here if your browser does not have it. Quit your browser after installing the plug-in then restart the browser and come back to this site.
The demo below will take about 4 minutes to download with a 56k modem. See demo instructions here (in new window). Your browser must be set to allow pop ups.

If you do not see anything below, you either do not have the latest version of the Shockwave player (follow the link above to get it) or you do not have Javascript enabled in your browser (please enable it).

After you land, click on the 3D world then move through it with your arrow keys.
When you get to the center of the labrynth, hold the shift + up arrow key to look up at the bottom of the ship.

NOTE: This demo is smaller than the final version and incomplete. The lower 2D map image is only for reference. It is easier to navigate by watching the upper 3D environment. In order to play, you should have a reasonably fast computer and a good 3D video card. You will also want to have DirectX 7 installed for best performance. Make sure no other programs are running in the background. (You can right+click on the game and try to select a new 3D renderer if the game seems too slow.)
  • After the demo is loaded, double click on the title screen to begin.
  • At the end of the opening animation you will hear a system beep.
  • Click on the 3D world then you may then begin navigating through the halls.
  • On the walls are images that create the illusion of the "good life." Many of these are fake: images created by advertising agencies for tobacco companies. (References to the tobacco product have been removed). Behind these images, which are designed to market the tobacco product, are 'traps' or dead ends.
  • Your job is to find the one opening in each wall that leads to the next level (closer to the air ship). You can find this opening by entering through the one image at each level that really represents the "good life." (For example: adults doing what a smoker can't do).
  • Continue entering the openings until you reach the interior of the maze where the air ship is.
