Other Interests
When I set goals 22 years ago, part of that was to be an author and a speaker. I am ready for this next step. I have been stretching my day (by getting up at 5 a.m.) to make room for this other career. This is my way to organize the 24 hours God gave me to accomplish the goals I have set for myself. I am not ready, financially, to give up building but I realize that you can't do too many things at one time or you will not focus well on any one of them. I cannot give it up right now but I have gotten the process of building down to the point where I have freed up a lot of my time. I know it so well now that I can do what used to take me eight hours in one phone call. My writing is about how to live a successful life: personal growth and development materials. I recently published a book and I have been asked to write a series of 12 articles for the builder's magazine. I am also speaking and doing research in addition to my writing. At noon today, I have an interview with a local author and that will be kind of enlightening for the both of us. Every day it is something different. If I am not interviewing a supreme court justice for my next book, I am planning or thinking about a future writing project. I am also a member of the National Speakers Association so I go to all their meetings. I am polishing my act every day. |
