In this area of our Web site you will find resources
for the three class period structure. These materials are
indexed sequentially for use over three class periods, although
you should feel free to adapt the program to your student's needs.
This program is designed to take place in a computer lab, equipped
with reasonably fast computers that have modern graphics hardware
and Internet connections. To assure your program's success plan
your computer lab sessions first. (Also, obtain a hacky sack
for the Inside/ Outside
activity for day three.)
If you do not have access to the proper
equipment or enough Internet connections you may need to adjust
the program so that your students get maximum benefit. For example,
if you have 30 students and only 15 Internet connections you may
want to let some students use the CD ROM game in the computers without
Internet connections while the other students do the online activities
on the Internet-connected computers. If you do not have access to
a computer lab then you may want to demonstrate (or allow students
to demonstrate) the game and online activities in front of the class
using one computer with a data projector (computer projection system).
Below is a chronology of discussions and activities
for the 'Three Class Period' Structure. This design assumes a one
hour class period. Adjust the time limits according to your school
schedule.
